Richard Searcy is a graduate of Detroit College of Business with a B.S. in Information Technology, 1977. He has worked for several major corporations such as, Oracle Corporation, BellSouth, NAVSEACENPAC and others as Programmer/Analyst, Systems Analyst, and Oracle Database Administrator. He has over 30 years in the IT industry.
Richard is also a free-lance writer and researcher. He served as Congressional Press Secretary to Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney from 2003 until 2006. During the 2004 campaign, he created and led her media strategy that was influential in her comeback victory over 4 other candidates, without a run-off.
He has a long history of involvement in political and community-based programs and activism. He led the fight in Georgia against paperless faith-based elections, and for the requirement of Voter Verified Paper Ballots in all Georgia elections. He has appeared in several documentaries on this subject as an expert witness.
